Loved the anime snacks!

Oh my goodness, my TokyoTreat box arrived and it was fantastic! The Anime Themed Snacks were so cute, and I got some Super Mario Snacks too. Everything was so fresh and delicious, especially the Pocky. I can't wait for my next box, this was such a treat. Seriously impressed!

Fun box, shipping was okay

Just got my TokyoTreat box and it was pretty cool. My friend told me about these snack boxes, so I figured I'd try one out. The Gummy Candy and some of the Savory Japanese Snacks were really good, totally different from what we have here. It took a little while to get here, like maybe two weeks, but everything arrived safely. It was a fun little surprise to open.

Always a great snack selection

Another month, another solid box from TokyoTreat. I've been getting their Premium Snack Box for almost a year now and they're reliably good. This month's assortment, with the Japanese Kit Kats and those fun DIY Candy Kits, was on point. Shipping was its usual pace, got it in about two weeks. Never had an issue with an order, which is why I keep coming back. It's consistent.

Good value for my first box

I finally decided to try TokyoTreat after seeing some ads. I got the first box discount which made the Premium Snack Box a really good deal. It came with a nice variety of Japanese Chips and some Ramune I was curious about. For the price I paid, it felt like a worthwhile experience. Definitely more interesting than just buying snacks from my local store.

Mostly good, some delays

My recent TokyoTreat Premium Snack Box had a great selection, especially the Limited Edition Japanese Pepsi and some interesting Senbei Rice Crackers. The snacks themselves were fresh and authentic. However, shipping took a bit longer than I expected this time, almost three weeks, which was a slight bummer. The tracking also updated a little slowly. Overall, still a good experience for the price, but faster shipping would make it even better.

My TokyoTreat discount code isn't working for my renewal. It's an influencer code I used last time. Anyone else having issues with renewal discounts or codes expiring fast?

R RajeshG 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Influencer codes are usually for new subscriptions only. They rarely work for renewals. You might need a specific renewal discount code if they have one available, or try a different promo.

That's what I suspected. Bit annoying they don't make that clearer.

Yeah, most first-time subscriber codes are like that. It's a common marketing tactic.

Sometimes customer support can help. I once contacted them about a renewal and they gave me a small discount code. Doesn't hurt to ask!

I had a similar problem. My Black Friday code didn't work for renewal either. Ended up just letting it renew at full price, which kinda stinks.

Ugh, really? I don't want to pay full price.

Same here. I'm thinking of canceling and then resubscribing with a new account if I can get another first-box discount.

Just got my first Tokyo Treat box and wondering about the snacks. Are they usually full-sized or mostly mini versions? Some seem a bit small.

S Sneha22 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Mostly regular-sized snacks in my experience. If you got a lot of small ones, maybe it was a box heavy on candy/dagashi? They usually include a few bigger items like ramen or a drink.

True, the drink is usually a good size.

Mine felt pretty balanced. Got a big Pepsi and some chips.

R Rahul87 1 month ago
It's a mix, honestly. Some are definitely full-sized like a regular bag of chips or a Pocky box, but then you get those smaller dagashi or individual candies. I think it depends on the specific box theme sometimes.

Yeah, I noticed that too. My ramen was full size but the mochi were tiny.

Good to know. Was hoping for more full-sized stuff.

I think the 'Premium' box tends to have more substantial items than the standard one. Worth checking if you're looking for bigger snacks.

Ah, that makes sense. I got the regular one.

Are the snacks in these boxes like, actually from Japan? Or are they just 'Japanese inspired' stuff made elsewhere? Saw some things with other boxes that felt a bit off.

J Josh V. 2 months ago
They're totally authentic, straight from Japan. That's kinda their whole thing. I've gotten so many unique things I'd never find otherwise.

I've always been super impressed with how genuine the snacks are. Even got some limited edition Kit Kats I recognized from my trip to Tokyo. Def legit.

can you cancel your subscription easily? like, no hassle if I just want to try it for a month or two?

C Cody M. 2 months ago
Yeah, cancelling was pretty straightforward for me. You just go into your account settings and there's an option. No big deal.

I cancelled after 3 months, it was super easy. Didn't have to jump through any hoops or anything. Just make sure you do it before your next billing cycle.

thinking about getting my first box, saw something about a discount for new subscribers. how do I even find that? is it automatic?

R Renee 1 month ago
Usually, you just need to keep an eye out for a promo code. Sometimes they have them on the homepage, or you can find influencer codes. It's usually for a few bucks off your first box.

E Elena 1 month ago
yeah, I got $5 off my first one with a code I found online. Just make sure to enter it at checkout before you pay, it's not automatic.

Hey, wondering how long it usually takes for the TokyoTreat boxes to get to California. Anyone have experience with that?

N Neil Vargas 2 months ago
Mine usually takes about 2-3 weeks to get to LA, give or take a few days depending on customs.

M Marcus C. 2 months ago
Yeah, same here in SF. I'd say plan for at least two weeks, maybe closer to three. But it's always worth the wait!

For those who've tried both, is TokyoTreat or Bokksu better? Can't decide which one to go with.

E Emma 2 months ago
TokyoTreat tends to have more candy and fun, modern stuff, while Bokksu sometimes feels a bit more traditional with a focus on regional specialties. Depends on what you're looking for, I guess.
5
M Megan J. 2 months ago
I like TokyoTreat for the variety and often more 'current' snacks, plus they have those themed boxes that are super fun. Bokksu is good too, but sometimes the snacks are a bit... fancy for me haha.
